Amanda Bloomgren

Amanda grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and received a degree in public relations and marketing.  During college she enjoyed rowing for the University of Minnesota’s women’s crew team.

After graduating from UST, magna cum laude, Amanda began practice at a small firm in Waconia, Minnesota. There, she spent her time practicing in a wide variety of areas and learned that she most enjoys solving problems for real people: individuals, families and small businesses. 

In 2011, Amanda and Katie Hanson opened Bloomgren Hanson Legal with a goal of providing practical people focused legal services. Amanda’s primary practice area is family law where she brings her diverse practice background to her work in servicing individuals dealing with matters surrounding divorce and custody.  Amanda also acts as a mediator and early neutral evaluator for family law matters.

Amanda believes that the real way to solve problems is not necessarily through the court system, but by taking a proactive approach in planning and dispute resolution.  That being said, Amanda’s experience with a wide variety of types of litigation allows her to effectively and efficiently represent her clients in the court room when other avenues are not successful or the case demands litigation.

Amanda is also active in the local community and the legal community.  Amanda is involved in the following activities and organizations:

• University of St. Thomas School of Law Faculty Mentor
• University of St. Thomas Alumni Board Director (2013-2015, 2017-2019)
• Minnesota Medal of Honor Memorial Board Director
• Chair of Board, Launch Ministry
• Former Member of the 8th District Bar Association Ethics Investigation Committee

 In her free time, Amanda enjoys the antics of her son, Eli and her chihuahua, Biggie Smalls; and tries (sometimes unsuccessfully) to finish numerous home improvement DIY projects.
